There are regular flights from Athens through the Greek companies:

Almost all international flights landing at Athens airport allow connecting flights to Santorini. The flight time from Athens to Santorini is approximately 30 minutes.

During the summer tourist season, there are many flights landing at the airport of Santorini from many European cities. During this period, the island of Santorini has a number of scheduled flights to Mykonos , Rhodes, Crete and Thessaloniki.

There is no need to pay any fee to enter or leave the island by plane.

Local bus

On the outside of the airport there are local bus from KTEL company (http://www.ktel-santorini.gr/) that take you to most surrounding towns. Buses run every 30 minutes during the summer and every hour during the winter. Keep in mind that public buses are green, being the rest of the colors from tourist buses. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver once on board. The bus schedule is posted outside the airport and costs 1.20 €. If you are travelling to another site different from Fira or Monolithos, take a look at the KTEL bus routes, since you will probably have to take another bus in Fira .

Taxi

Taxis are available outside of the airport. However, during the summer months can be quite difficult to find a cab. A trip to Oia can cost about 25 €, and Fira , between 10-15 €. These prices are per trip, not per person. As a council, try to agree the price with the driver before departing, remember you are a tourist!

    The main port of Santorini (Athinios) is located in the western part of the island, in the village of Athinios. This is the port on which arrive the vast majority of ferries to the island. There is another port in Fira , but it’s smaller, and it’s used as a fishing port. This is the port that it is used to go to the volcano.

    There are regular ferries from the port of Piraeus in Athens through Greek companies as Blue Star (http://www.bluestarferries.com) and Hellenic Seaways (http://www.hellenicseaways.gr). It is very important to note that there are two types of ferries: regular and fast. The difference between them is that the route between Piraeus and Santorini using regular one is 8.5 hours meanwhile rapid one is 5.30. Of course, the faster is more expensive, but greatly reduces travel time.

    Of course there are ferry connections between Santorini and the Cyclades islands, just search in Blue Star (http://www.bluestarferries.com) or Hellenic Seaways (http://www.hellenicseaways.gr), keeping in mind that in summer period there are many more connections than in spring or autumn. Be careful!

    There is no need to pay any fee when you enter the island by boat or ferry, but you have to pay a small fee (1.5 €) when you leave the island by ferry.
