Part of the blame for which Santorini is popular among tourists is because of its idyllic climate. It rarely rains and even in summer, temperatures are not as high as in other parts of the Mediterranean. During the spring and summer the sky is almost always free of clouds, while the weather is more dynamic during the autumn and winter.
Temperatures vary with a daily average of 29 º C in summer and 12 º C during winter. However, moisture can be very high, which translates into horizons usually cloudy, blocking the view of the island of Crete. Despite this, the constant breeze of the island makes the summer days quite comfortable, even when temperatures reach above 30 º C. Winter winds can be quite cool and temperatures can be chilly at night.
