Santorini Beaches: Red beach

Red beach is located near the ancient village of Akrotiri and is one of the most famous and beautiful beaches of Santorini. Because it is rather small, usually fills pretty quickly. Given his fame, many people come just to admire it and never set their feet in its black sand. The reason why so many people are attracted here is by the slabs of red and black rock volcanic that are right behind her.

To get to the beach, you must pass through a path from the parking that is not very suitable for prams or people with disabilities. The sand is red and black and is a bit painful to sit directly on it, because there are pebbles in the sand. Fortunately, there are a lot of sun beds and parasols. It is a very good area for snorkeling because of the clear waters of this island.
