Located in the stunning vineyards that cover large areas of Santorini, these two villages are totally agricultural. During the day are totally quietness sites in clear contradiction to the nearby Kamari.
Exo Gonia has an amphitheater and has in its interior some wonderful churches. Most of them are composed of classic red tiles on a bell that hangs over the city.
What you should see:
The church of Panagia Episkopi is one of the most important Byzantine churches of Santorini. Located south of the town of Mesa Gonia, this church was built in the 12th century AD and is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
Canava Roussos is located in a beautiful location in the central road of the Mesa Gonia. Surrounded by sloping vineyards, is one of the oldest wineries in Santorini.
